The Thought Behind Design Five 11

Born from a love for hands-on craftsmanship and a deep respect for materials, Five11 Design is a furniture studio built on passion, precision, and personal connection.

The journey began in design school, where I first intended to pursue transportation design. But during our foundation year, I discovered a deeper calling working with my hands to bring tangible, functional products to life. A workshop course sparked it all. Surrounded by tools, machines, and raw materials like wood, metal, and plastics, I found myself spending more time building in the workshop than expected even outside coursework.

That drive led me to choose product design as my specialization, and over the next four years, I immersed myself in creating. From a fully functioning electric guitar and custom furniture to a wooden frame bicycle and even helping build a full-scale replica of a Shelby Cobra, the workshop became my second home.

After graduating and working at a furniture studio that crafted its own pieces inhouse, I gained valuable hands on experience in advanced woodworking techniques. When COVID hit and reset the world for many of us, I saw it as a turning point to build something of my own.

That vision became Five11 Design, named after my birth date, November 5. I set up my workshop in Pune , where today I design and build premium, custom furniture by hand. It’s a small team—just me and one skilled maker trained under me, but we’re deeply committed to our craft. Whether it’s custom chairs, live edge tables, or bespoke pieces combining wood with other materials, every product we create is rooted in care, quality, and individuality.

Our logo, resembling a chair reflects what we stand for a seamless blend of design and function, where every piece tells a story.
